Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. We are especially appreciative and thankful for the assistance of Alvin Gochez, surgery scheduler for Dr. Emelie Cheung.. He went above and beyond helping us schedule a surgery. He helped make our day less stressful since we live over 3 hours away.

I got there early and they were able to take me early and I was able to finish early. Perfect visit.
Very likely

Excellent care by a professional staff.
You folks are awesome - you are well organized and determined to fix me
Dr. Cheung is an excellent surgeon, & did an outstanding job repairing my shoulder. She believes I will be able to fully return to work by Aug. 7th. However, I have explained to her on this last video visit that my company does not want me to return to work until I am 100% able to perform my job (Flight Attendant) & currently I can't even lift 2lbs over my head. My job requires me to be able to lift 55lbs or more overhead. It's now May 24th, & I highly doubt I will be able to do the required lifting expected by Aug. 7th. She said that she is sure my co-workers will be able to assist me, if necessary. However, she doesn't understand that they will not assist me, Its up to me to be able to do all that is physically required in my job. She doesn't seem to understand the full nature of all the physical requirements that I must demonstrate to be able to fully return to work 100% without concern of reinjury. She repeatedly kept saying to me, that I need to have the confidence that I would be able to return to work by then, & I should have no limitations. As much as I'd like to believe that, I know my job...and how physical it can be. I feel as much as she thinks she knows my physical job requirements, she truly don't understand all that it encompasses. We will be having another appt by the end of July to re-evaluate my progress.
Dr. Cheung is outstanding.
Dr came in ‘ examined my scar. Answered my questions. Great visit!
My experience at Stanford outpatient hospital has been outstanding

Everyone knew their job and did it well which made me feel confident
Dr. Emilie Cheung and her PA, Erin are exceptional healers/medical professionals. All questions explained with technical precision plus intuitive communication. I felt profoundly understood and cared for as an individual. The essence of healing - study it, bottle it and dispense through the HVAC system.

Dr Cheung Is brilliant – both professionally and personally. I find her skills to be unmatched. I have had many joint replacement surgeries In my life. Dr. Cheung is the best of the best. She has performed joint replacement surgery on each of my elbows. I had experienced chronic severe pain for years and had very minimal function. Now I can use both arms. To me, she is a miracle worker. Thank you, Dr Cheung.

Very impressive. Listened to my history & questions without interrupting. Answered all my questions thoroughly. I have seen three orthopedists & she was the best of the bunch , even though I could not see her in person as it was a video visit. Her office seemed very professional & reflects well on her. Her visit summary was extremely detailed, covering everything, and was sent within the day. I hope to proceed with surgery with her.

Thank you for excellent work on both of my shoulders. Your skills and that of your team made this experience successful and, in a way I had not expected, fun!!
Felt the time and explanation of the shoulder issue and upcoming surgery was well addressed by both the PA and Dr. Cheung.
Dr. Cheung is THE BEST! While waiting in XRay I met a couple of patients there for 1st visit with Cr. Cheung. They were anxious until I told them of my experience and that put them at ease. Happy to recommend her and "sing her praises."
Outstanding professionals - Doctors, nurses, staff.
I feel that I received excellent care.
Already have recommended Dr. Cheung to others!

always a pleasant experience --I never feel rushed asking for information about my health - Dr Cheung and staff are always courteous, never make me feel they are rushing
Dr. Cheung was very professional and courteous. I am so glad she was the one taking care of my elbow issue. She is definitely a surgeon I would recommend Stanford is a wonderful facility.

Dr. Cheung is excellent!
Dr. Cheung was wonderful.
Dr. Cheung was amazing. She seemed very concerned with my situation and clearly explained the surgery she was going to be doing. The surgery went well and I am very pleased with how the recovery is progressing.
Dr. Cheung did not have good news for me and was almost as upset about the news as I was. She is wonderful and shows great compassion!
Best doctors, residents and assistants!!!
Dr Cheung is the best on her field.
Dr. Chueng and the Resident (I guess) who saw me were both very competent and personable.
Dr. Cheung is exceptional.
I feel confident with the service and care provided, and/or will be provided.
Excellent care at all levels.
Very professional.
Good experience.
all experience was great
Dr. Cheng knowledge and warmth make visits to Stanford comfortable and positive.
Dr. Cheung is absolutely the best. She fixed my right arm years ago and now gets rewarded by having to fix my left arm. I would, and do, recommend her to anyone willing to listen.
I feel I was in the hands of an exceptional doctor
Dr. Emilie Cheung is te best Doctor I have ever known. If not for er second opinion diagnosis, I may have lost my arm permanently.
This was my second time being treated here. I was so impressed with how nice everyone was
Dr. Cheung & PA Katie Rawlinson are both amazing!
I greatly appreciated the doctor articulating, without prompting, her commitment to helping me stay as active as possible for as long as possible. That's my goal also.
I would have liked if Dr. Cheung would have explained what was going on in more technical terms since I like to know specifics. She spoke in general terms that were sufficient for me to know how I was doing and that I would continue to make progress. My curious mind wants to know a little more specifics. I have enough confidence in her and in Stanford hospital that I trust anyway.
PA, Katie was personable and caring, and provided me with all the information I needed. Dr. Cheung was very nice, a good listener, and a calm presence, which is good for me, since surgery is an option that I wish I didn't have to take. We talked over the history of my shoulder problem, and the MRI results, and easily came to the conclusion that arthroscopic debridement was the best option for me.
Dr. Cheung is a really, really, really great Dr. I felt I could trust her to keep me safe. She is VERY smart but spoke to me in a way that didn't make me feel "less than."
I have complete trust in Dr. Cheung.
I would like to have the dr. have more time to discuss the procedure & what to expect.
Dr. Cheung has always answered my questions fully & left me in full confidence as to our treatment plan. She diagnosed & treated me when other doctors could not. I am grateful for her friendliness & bedside manner!
Felt was too rushed & didn't get to ask all my questions.
Dr. Cheung is great, but she is a bit mysterious - she sits & listens without reacting, which makes me chatter on & on. At latest visit, she was warmer & more animated, however, & very sweet.
Spent less than 5 minutes with me. Took two separate appts. to get referral for physical therapy - she should have done that the first visit. She did not show concern for my bike accident and shoulder injury.
I saw this doctor for a reoccurrence of a shoulder injury to the bicep tendon. After a superficial check I was told the problem I was experiencing was from my neck and referred to Spine Care. After Spine care reviewed the xray and doctor's report, they referred me to physical medicine who confirmed that it was an injury to the bicep tendon. A shot into the muscle/tendon totally cleared the problem. I felt if my symptoms been properly listened to and the examination more thorough, the correct diagnosis could and should have been made in the shoulder clinic.
This was regarding a difficult shoulder, replacement went in apprehensive after visit - feel very comfortable.
Dr. Cheung had never explained to me the details of my surgery UNTIL she was mad at me (and livid) for not following all of her previous instructions.
Just...Thank You!
Dr. Cheung's attentiveness to the patient and "bedside manner" is very impressive. She is a very pleasant doctor who acknowledged my comments, and answered my related questions. Too bad she doesn't operate on knees! :(
Excellent.
This was my 3rd rotator cuff repair. I'm from Chicago, but not live in Humboldt County & didn't feel care was up to par in Humboldt. Happy with my decision to go to Stanford and Dr. Cheung.
The facility is 45 min. from my house. I felt there could have been more time spent examining my issue.
I will be recommending Emily Cheung to next door Woodside, CA.
Dr. Cheung asked me how my shoulder bothered me other I fully explained it to and was examined by the resident working with her. At that time, she was very COLD, never nodded or showed any sign that she acknowledged what I said. Her bedside manner is scary - no concern shown for my problem and did not reading history.
Dr. was not very personable.
She went straight to surgery. I asked for/got cortisone which has been great and I may not need surgery.
I feel like I'm in very good hands with Dr. Cheung.
I've always had a positive experience at Stanford & with Dr. Cheung.
I think that Dr. Cheung is a fantastic surgeon. My physical therapy team is AMAZED at how well I am doing.
First visit w/dr. suppose to be 30 - 45 minutes - was under 15 min. When I asked questions, she was brusk & told me she'd answer at next visit. (Pre-op) I don't know if I want her to do the surgery.
