i am very grateful that Dr Witteles is very familiar with my medical history and incorporates that information when making recommendations and changes to my medical plan and prescriptions. .
Great doctor!
Dr. Wittles showed up at the meeting with a very good understanding of my case history and situation, provide and excellent background of Amyloidosis, in general and my specific flavor in particular. He initially told me that my heart was OK, which was what I was really worried about today (he knew that I'm guessing), and then asked some questions about my current state, and then provided and excellent and detailed summary of my medical voyage so far, and what the next steps would be. His summary wove in events that occurred within the Mercy Medical system as well as Stanford, and so his notes are the best and most complete description of all my recent medical tests, results, procedures, and symptoms, that I have. We agreed on next steps, and I feel that I very clearly understand my medical situation. I'd like to thank Dr. Witteles for his thorough preparation, and organization during the meeting, as well as his flexibility in answering my questions. This was an excellent visit, and not just because I got good news. The above things would have been even more important to me if I was getting bad news. So in summary it was a great visit, which I am really thankful for.

Great doctor!!!
The Fellow who first spoke with me was engaging and seemed to have time to hear my concerns. The physician I was scheduled to see was quite obviously in a hurry, gave me a cursory evaluation, stood and never sat, changed one medication and sent me on my way. I completed a multi-part form on which I listed numerous symptoms and conditions, none of which were addressed or even acknowledged. I drove a combined 7 hours, waited for another and was briskly dismissed in a matter of just a few minutes. I complained of shortness of breath and pulmonary edema and was hospitalized for two days, AFTER Dr. Witteles assessed me and sent me away. I will never see that doctor again and am reluctant to divulge such information to another physician in this manner again.
