Programs and Services

The following programs and services are available at the Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center:

REI Laboratory

The REI Center at Stanford provides comprehensive laboratory services for women and men.

Stanford's REI Laboratory is accredited by the State of California and holds a tissue bank license. Our experienced laboratory staff of California licensed technologists and phlebotomists are all highly specialized in the field of reproductive technology. The laboratory staff interacts with the clinical staff to achieve the very best in patient care.

Endocrine Laboratory

Our endocrine laboratory uses the state-of-the-art Immunite 2500 Hormone Analyzer to offer a full panel of reproductive hormone analysis. Test results are usually returned the same day, when samples are received by 10 AM.

Andrology Laboratory

Our andrology laboratory uses a CASA system (Computer Assisted Semen Analyzer), the IVOS Sperm Analyzer, for semen analysis and sperm washes. A strict Kruger morphology may also be requested by your physician. Sperm cryopreservation is offered, but long-term storage arrangements must be made with a cryobank.

We recognize that receiving fertility treatments can be a very stressful and emotionally difficult journey. To address the psychological aspects of infertility, challenges in decision making, and other reproductive considerations, the Stanford Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Center offers individual and group support through our professional and caring counseling staff.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Hospital & Clinics patient, you have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.

Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
