Treatment for Huntington’s Disease
Treatments for Huntington’s Disease
Currently, no cure or treatment exists for Huntington’s disease. However, your doctor can treat your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
Our multi-specialty team works with you to identify the best treatments for you, including:
- Medications to lessen the mental and physical effects of the disease
- Therapy for depression and anxiety that often accompany Huntington’s disease
- Exercise therapies to help movement problems
- Access to support services in your community
Studies of new therapies for Huntington’s disease are also in progress. Ask your doctor whether you may benefit from these treatments and if you qualify to participate.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
