Adam Horst is the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Stanford Health Care—one of the nation’s leading academic health systems—where he oversees financial strategy, planning, and reporting. He has more than two decades of finance and strategy experience across the health care and government sectors.
Before joining Stanford Health Care in 2026, Horst was the chief financial officer of Mayo Clinic’s flagship campus in Rochester, Minnesota. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in advancing major capital and innovation initiatives and was a strong champion of automation and artificial intelligence solutions. Before that, he held senior leadership roles at Indiana University Health and the state of Indiana.
Horst earned his master’s degree in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in government and psychology from Dartmouth College.
