Just as data documentation, collection, and rating systems are complex, analyzing quality reports and prioritizing improvement goals at a hospital can also be difficult. Stanford Health Care prioritizes quality improvement initiatives based on the positive impact the plan will have for patients and their families. In addition to meeting internal goals based on our own monitoring and reporting and strictly adhering to state laws that influence improvement priorities, we also initiate quality improvement programs to meet external goals, including the Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals.
