Dr. Alper always does a thourogh exam and and he was able to give me a probable reason (pending seeing a specialist) for my severe back and sciatic pain. He gives me a great deal of relief and puts my worries at ease just by his caring explanations and help. And he answered several emails from me.

The purpose of my visit was to address the new pain I was experiencing in my lower back, and and Dr. Alper ordered an MRI for that. I told Dr. Alper about the prescription printout I had received with Etodolac outlining the extreme dangers of taking this medication long-term, especially for elderly people, of which I am one. (Dr. Alper has prescribed Etodolac to relieve my severe pain from osteoarthritis.) I told him I wanted to talk with him about this. He told me we would get to that later in the visit. He did not address this concern later. He may have forgotten, and I did not mention it again. Dr. Alper did spend time talking with me about the issue of anorexia that his nurse, Karen, had noted in the medical workup. He was concerned to know if my psychiatrist was aware of this problem and helping me with it.
