I have great confidence in Dr. Grace Eng. For nearly a decade and a half Dr. Eng has helped me navigate going from not great management of my diabetes type two really good care. After a knee replacement surgery, I encountered complications after the surgery. I somehow got gastritis. I was very sick for 10 to 14 days. Dr. Eng along with my primary care doctor help me get through really bad period. I’m much better now and it’s usual very well informed under the care of Dr. Eng.

Grace Eng, MD is a wonderful doctor. She responds to all of my questions and concerns. She provides information and instructions well. Dr. Eng provides great care and carefully explains instructions on all of my presto's and procedures with both T1 diabetes as well as osteoporosis. Rather than judging my condition simply by the (within normal range) test result numbers, she took into consideration other symptoms I was describing and made a judgment call about the appropriate dose of medication from all those factors.
As a result of the reduced dose she recommended, a problem I was having - tachycardia - has resolved, thereby avoiding unnecessary cardiac surgical procedures.
Dr. Eng was the first and only endocrinologist to make a clinical judgment that included factors extraneous to test scores and, as a result, achieved a much better medical outcome.

I believe Dr. Eng is a highly competent physician. She seems to have an excellent grasp of medical statistics, risks, treatment options, and course of treatment. What she totally lacks, however, is an sense of empathy or compassion. When I talked to her about my symptoms she had absolutely no response to my concerns and complaints.

Dr. Eng has been my Endocrinologist for about 10 years now. She is the first one I contact when an issue comes up. She takes time to explain medical issues clearly in a way that is easy to understand. She answers any questions I have and makes sure to tell me what signs to look at for and what symptoms I need to let her know about. She also makes sure I schedule my next appointment before leaving which is important because I tend to put off making appointments but will always keep the ones I make. She is such a valuable Doctor that I asked to come back for follow up with her after surgery when I was being told to do follow up at UCSF.
