Dr. Guardino grew up in New York City and after completing medical school in DC at Georgetown, moved to Boston where he completed his Internal Medicine training at Harvard. He then went on to fellowship training in Cardiology while in Boston and moved to the Bay Area with his wife and family in 2000. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, skiing and reading.

Dr. Guardino is always in demand due to the quality and warmth and caring expertise and his sincere interest in making sure that my heart is performing the way our good God intended.
As always, Dr. Guardino is a gem - very detailed in medical details and recommendations for my taking responsibility for my health, while at the same time very warm and caring.

Dr Guardino is awesome, and takes the appropriate amount of time with me (and I assume each patient), however sometimes this means he is running late. Please consider giving him a longer window with which to meet with patients. Heart conditions CANNOT be address in a 15 minute window. And if you believe they can, you do not have a heart condition.

Dr. Guardino's focus and attention to finding the right solution to a stubborn irregular heart rhythm problem is absolutely extraordinary...he keeps tweaking and fine tuning the meds until he gets the heart to where he wants it. I have never had anyone (any doctor) use all of the medical device tools and the various medications to get the heart back to high performance. I would have been dead 10 times over if I had remained with my past cardiologists...they never would be so committed to solving the problem. Dr. Guardino's dedication to heart health and heart performance is awesome...I am very fortunate to be under his care and I am still alive at age 75 because of his exceptional care.

He is easy relate to and never appears to be in a hurry (even though I'm sure he is). He explains everything, shows me evidence, and answers all my questions.

I have been with him since he came on board as Dr Fiene's replacement. (That was sixteen years ago.)
