Very informative.
SHC Patient, Sep 2019
Erica told me that Dr. Halpern would be in shortly. I waited over one hour before he saw me I called the clinic. When they answered, the person said they were looking at my file and MRI. I question why they hadn't looked at it earlier.

SHC Patient, Apr 2018
It has been next to impossible to contact the care provider or his team to address problems following surgery. The care provider and his team seldom responded to messages and brushed off concerns and serious issues that arose. I have never been less happy with the support and concern shown when things went badly after surgery. It is shameful.

I wish there would be more professionals like Dr. Halpern at Stanford Hospital, compassionate and humane towards patients who are in horrible chronic pain like myself. I wish there would be other patients like Dr. Halpern willing to take any case no matter how complicated it is, and not like other doctors who are just cherry pickers "taking only easy cases."

Dr. Halpern's first attempt to place wires of spinal cord stimulator was unsuccessful. His second attempt was only partially successful. I still have an unexplained puffiness on the spine.

I liked the care provider sharing some of his thoughts about his options approaching surgery. I understood that he had been thinking about my particular brain and the variety of choices he could make for the best results.
