I discussed my gender dysphoria with her and my childhood sexual trauma before the exam, and she agreed to examine me while I was under general anesthesia for a different surgical procedure with another doctor. I was impressed by how well the two doctors coordinated their procedures to address my personal needs. Dr. Mishra will also refer me to two other departments to discuss my upcoming procedures/concerns, and she has offered to perform the next needed surgery at the same time another surgeon is working on me once again to minimize the amount of traveling I have to do and the number of times I have to have general anesthesia. She is also friendly, easy to work with, and knowledgeable in her area of expertise.

Amazing work repairing a major and huge prolapse - I have had NO problems with using the area since surgery (wasn't able to use it AT ALL before surgery), or with excessive pain due to surgery.
My only problem, heavily dependent on me being disabled and already in pain all the time before surgery, was having pain meds which worked not be allowed (because they have bleeding risks), and having to try things which ultimately didn't work well, too close to surgery.
Dr. Mishra listened well and took in everything I said - I felt heard. Maybe what we talked about will help some other disabled woman in the future; I hope so. Disabled people are all different - but I would recommend Dr. Mishra to any of us.
Her assistant, Dr. Clare Burton, was also responsive and supportive on the day of surgery, and the whole team made me feel taken care of.

Stanford needs more doctors like Dr. Mishra. She is smart, listens to your input and spends enough time with you without trying to rush.

the doctor seemed very rushed like they didn't have time for my appointment. I'm sure something important was going on - and my case isn't complicated or urgent so is easy enough to rush, but I left feeling a bit rushed out the door.

Dr. Mishra is very engaged in my care and actively included my husband and I in my plan of care, discussing present concerns and different treatment potentials. I particularly liked how she engaged the PT who was following her during the visit to draw upon the PTs expertise and experience. I think a multidisciplinary approach is key to optimal patient care outcomes. I learned from my visit and with this knowledge I can work towards improving my care and quality of life.
