Biography
Addie Peretz, MD, is a board certified Neurologist and a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology & Neurological Sciences.
Her clinical interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of headache and facial pain conditions. She is involved in medical education, and received the Robert S. Fisher Teaching Award for excellence in Neurology resident teaching of Stanford medical students. Her research interests include understanding the biological underpinnings of migraine and chronic daily headaches. She also participates in clinical trials of new headache treatments.

Dr. Peretz was thorough and did an excellent job communicating her plan. She restated instructions for my medications and made sure I understood. Her interview was thorough and she was thoughtful in listening to my account of my physical and neuro issues. I appreciate that she included vitamins and nutrition in her plan. She also took into consideration medications I have taken in the past when prescribing current meds, and gave clear explanations about things she currently finds appropriate for me to try. She was also very kind and polite.

Both of the provides I saw during my visit were very good. They both LISTENED to me. Things that I felt other drs have ignored or not understood my concerns were addressed.
I cried after the visit. They came up with a clear step by step game plan for my treatment. They listened to me. They heard what I was saying, when others didn't.
They asked very well articulated snd direct questions in regards to my condition and history.
The treatment plan they presented to me was clear and addressed my "hot topics" as well as incorporated their "hot topics " and why the steps need to be done.
They expressed clearly why they would prefer to keep my tests done at this location.
She did fine, as did her colleague who conducted the first 40 minutes of the call. The line Dr Peretz was on for video was breaking up, so we switched to regular phone call.
Both Dr. Baron and Dr. Peretz were good to work with and caring. It's just difficult not seeing them in person.

Dr Perez was very thorough about explaining difft avenues I can take. She really explained and having me do a difft med dosage and document my symptom changes if any. She is ordering a mri also , as has been 5 yrs since last one, regarding pain still. She understands I don’t want to increase the med.
She’s the best. Understands the problem and offers her advice to correct it. Ask questions, listens and is so caring and concerned. Sets up referrals which I received the next day. Set up appointment for procedure which I didn’t have do do. Again, she’s the best!

Dr. Peretz was very thoughtful and thorough, and took the extra step to connect with another one of my doctors to coordinate my care and ensure appropriate/best treatment.
I really appreciated Dr. Peretz's approach. I felt heard, I was asked lots of questions, I was invited to share my feelings about the treatment approach. She made sure to clearly explain my options and give me plenty of avenues and tools to work with and lots of reassurances. It was a wonderful visit and I am thrilled to have such a dedicated care team.
I think specialists get a bad reputation for rushing patients through appointments and not really listening, but Dr. Peretz did not do that. She took the time to explain everything to me in terms I would understand and even checked for understanding after. She also allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed. I felt heard and confident I was receiving the best care.
Dr. Peretz is extremely thorough, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She addressed and validated all of my concerns and gave me a lot of information to help me make a plan going forward. I have a lot of confidence in her and her team.

She was great. Talked a little fast for me, but that may just be due to my processing disorder as a result of my SAH getting in the way. Very kind and caring. Very professional and knowledgeable. I got a little confused about what the next step is going to be as far as my continued work with the Headache Clinic; for example, no follow-up appointment was scheduled so I don’t know where that leaves me from here on out besides working with my primary Neurologist. Anyway, confusion aside, Dr Peretz was great!

Dr. Peretz is the best neurologist I’ve had the privilege of being treated by, and I’ve seen many over the course of 17 years of migraine management. She is an impressive and logical problem solver, which builds a lot of trust by being able to see her process for arriving at the diagnosis/treatment. Dr. Peretz is also extremely knowledgeable, practical (super important for making a treatment plan that’s actually feasible), and deeply compassionate.

Dr. Peretz is an extremely compassionate doctor who obviously cares about her patients. She is easy to speak with and answers all my questions and concerns. I have never felt rushed or that my concerns were not important. She is a great doctor that I recommend highly!
Dr. Peretz and Dr. J were both very personable, professional, patient, and knowledgeable. They allowed plenty of time for full questions and for follow-up questions to be asked. They gave various treatments and follow-up options that can be tried both at Stanford and by local physicians and listened to questions and allowed pt. to choose what to do next.

Dr. Peretz is what one things of when imagining an ideal provider. She if friendly and welcoming. She gets to know her patients and understand their needs. Dr. Peretz accommodates us, makes us feel safe and heard AND advocates for us when needed.
Dr. Peretz also impressed me, and made me feel respected. She was thorough, and clearly not only conferred with her assistant doctor who met with me first, but she, too, obviously read the materials I brought for her. She explained to me in detail her thoughts and recommendations. Here's another very rare characteristic she has compared to other doctors I've seen all my life. She was clearly neither upset at my many questions, nor was she defensive about all of them. Sometimes it takes me a while to understand things and she was caring, and did not show any frustration with my seemingly same line of questions. Finally, even though she wasn't going to be able to treat me herself (not her area of expertise), she didn't rush our appointment and just shuffle me off. Our meeting was an outstanding experience! She lived up to Stanford's reputation as a first class doctor, in all aspects of my experience.

The doctor ended the appointment and simply walked out of office. I was left to scramble to collect my paperwork and then try and find the exit on my own. Felt like the end to a bad date. Someone should have walked me out.
