SHC Patient, Oct 2016

Dr. Shinn- very good but busy!

SHC Patient, Jul 2016

dr. Lisa Orloff, whom I followed from UCSF to Stanford because of her extraordinarily high level of skill, knowledge, and expertise is simply one of a kind. she does her own thyroid ultrasounds, during which she spitted several nodules MISSED by an East Bay ultrasound tech. She LISTENS to the patient and answers all questions thoroughly. Because of this, she was able to diagnose an asthmatic condition I'd had all my life though it had never been recognized by any dr. I ended up in the ER with a breathing problem but I survived, likely because she had taken the time to explain my problem and given me an inhaler that prevented a worse attack.

SHC Patient, Jul 2016

this physician showed compassion !

SHC Patient, Jul 2016

All experiences VERY good!

SHC Patient, Jun 2016

I will never go to Dr. John Shinn again. The appointment was a waste of my time. He did not listen to what I had to say and every time I tried to explain my symptoms, he basically tried to infer that I did not know what I was saying.

SHC Patient, Jun 2016

Dr. Shinn is knowledgeable but hardly ever spends more than 5 minutes with me and rarely discusses my condition or provides answers to my questions.

SHC Patient, Jun 2016

My experience in general very good and very grateful of your attentions and recommendations.

SHC Patient, May 2016

I don't feel like the doctor listened. the procedure he asked me to do I have been doing for 8 months and it hasn't helped.

SHC Patient, May 2016

indifferent and a bit condiscending attitude

SHC Patient, Apr 2016

Care was very good and professional.

SHC Patient, Mar 2016

Dr. Shinn was very careful to explain that differences in hearing acuity of my right ear vs. left ear and recommended an MRI. MRI didn't find anything related to hearing but did discover a lesion (small tumor) in my cerebellum. I'm having surgery to remove the tumor and would not have discovered it were it not for the MRI. Marvelous karma!

SHC Patient, Mar 2016

Dr. Shinn seems to define his area of interest pretty narrowly - I came in for an ear cleaning and we quickly determined that my ears were already quite clean. Over the last several weeks I've had a postnasal drip and some related symptoms however, which I was hoping Dr. Shinn would also investigate and treat - he is, after all, an ENT. However, he seemed relatively uninterested in these, and was quick to refer me to other departments for further investigation. Perhaps he's just the ear-cleaning guy, and doesn't see other ENT issues as useful or important, or perhaps he felt that since I had made the appointment for an ear cleaning, that's what I was entitled to. He was not rude, and seemed generally competent, but just not very invested in my general ENT health.

SHC Patient, Nov 2015

Got watch - TV - cool.

SHC Patient, Nov 2015

Provider didn't seem all that concerned about my questions regarding my condition (which has been worsening).

SHC Patient, Nov 2015

Dr. Shinn is great. He listens.

SHC Patient, Oct 2015

DR. Shinn offered no suggestions of treatment such as acupuncture, white noise machine, therapy, he basically told me to live with it,a complete waste of time, old school mentality with not sincere interest in my suffering with tinnitus

SHC Patient, Sep 2015

DR Shinn is very professional, caring and friendly.

SHC Patient, Jul 2015

Dr. made me feel dumb when I could not describe my "dizziness" so he understood. Also made me feel like I was making it up by staying my symptoms didn't notice.

SHC Patient, Jun 2015

Unable to help with my tinnitus problem.

SHC Patient, May 2015
