Biography
Jessica Falco-Walter, MD is board certified in Neurology as well as in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology and practices as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology & Neurological Sciences at Stanford University. Dr. Walter received her BA in Cognitive Science with distinction from Yale University. She received her MD and completed her internship at Georgetown University School of Medicine and then completed her neurology residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of the Icahn School of Medicine. She then went on to pursue fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago, IL. She is board certified by the ABPN in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy. She was one of the first ABPN Epilepsy fellows in the country. Her clinical focus is diagnosis and treatment of seizure disorders and epilepsy, with commitment to treating complex patients and improving quality of life as well as seizure control.
She has a particular interest in dietary treatments for epilepsy and has created a clinic to better manage ketogenic diet treatments for adults with epilepsy. She has published research on ketogenic dietary treatments and continues to work on research related to Vitamin D and epilepsy. While she has particular interest in dietary treatments in epilepsy she is well versed in all currently available medications and surgical treatments for epilepsy and works with patients to treat epilepsy medically, surgically, and wholistically. She is involved in research on new treatments for epilepsy as well.
Dr. Falco-Walter is the Students Interested in Neurology (SIGN) faculty lead for the Department of Neurology and really enjoys working with undergraduates and medical students at the beginning of their careers. She is the course instructor for the Introduction to Neurology Seminar that runs in the fall for medical students that introduces students to all the subspecialty areas within Neurology.

Exceptional well explained
I am always skeptical when starting with a new doctor, especially a neurologist. In the 21 years since my AVM surgery, many of the neurologists I've been treated by were too analytical, somewhat cold, and rarely willing to listen to details about hallucinations and other things they could not fix.
Dr. Walter is attentive, sympathetic, funny, and simply has the best bedside manner of any neurologist I've been with at Stanford or anywhere else, for that matter.
In today's video-visit Dr. Walter listened and responded to everything I had to say. Her recommendations and comments were very comforting.
She is a great doctor, and probably, a great person. Thanks for adding her to your staff.

Dr Walter is a very attentive physician. She has carefully followed all the details of my case, from when I first came to see her with the referral from my primary care doctor, with an MRI report that concluded there was evidence of seizures. She followed through with eeg and tried different medications. As things progressed she has kept in mind my history even when a surgery had results that couldn't be explained in the context of what had been accepted from previously observed and recorded data. I appreciate her helping me feel continuity of support in confusing times like that. I always feel that she is overseeing my case with an overview of the most useful of the medical information available and any details of my life that can explain or be helpful in any way. This is a tremendous comfort to me since I have had very difficult long stretches of time that I couldn't previously explain or address. Dr Walter has kindly been there helping guide me through next steps. I appreciate knowing that I can reach out to her if I have any further epilepsy related issues.

Dr. Walter has only been my doctor for about a year, and I've only met her once in person. The other visits were video calls. Until today's video visit, I really didn't know much about her.

We were half an hour early but the Jessica Walter helped us immediately, and then also took our regular appointment time.
