Volunteering
Information About Volunteering
We take great care to match a volunteer's interest and skills to specific Stanford Health Care assignments keeping in mind the greatest needs of the organization and how we can best support the patient experience. Volunteers do not shadow, observe or provide clinical services (intern/externship), or participate in research positions.
Nursing Unit Opportunities
Inpatient nursing unit volunteers must be at least 18 years old. This role requires a commitment of one shift per week (3-4 hours) for a minimum of one year. All nursing unit roles will be located at the main hospital in Palo Alto.
All Other Opportunities
All non-inpatient unit volunteers must be at least 16 years old. These roles require a commitment of one shift per week (3-4 hours) for a minimum of six months.
