May We Take Your Picture?
The Patient Photos project is a patient identification project to assist with patient safety and identification. Once captured, the patient's photo is attached to the patient's electronic medical record (EMR). An additional benefit of having the patient photo in the EMR, is that the photo serves as a visual reminder to the provider, thereby enhancing caregiver communication with the patient. The initial pilot of this project was implemented in the Emergency Department in early March.
