As part of Stanford Health Care (SHC) commitment to patient centered
care, the Nursing Department is actively involved in quality
improvement initiatives focused on measuring and improving patient outcomes.
SHC prioritizes quality improvement initiatives based on the
positive impact the plan will have for patients and their families. In
addition to meeting internal goals based on our own monitoring and
reporting and strictly adhering to state laws that influence
improvement priorities, we also initiate quality improvement programs
to meet external goals, including the Joint
Commission's National Patient Safety Goals.
At any given time there are numerous improvement projects going on
at SHC. We invite you to explore some of the initiatives in which the
Nursing Department has been involved.
