Tailoring Cancer Care Through Genomic Profiling

James Ford, MD, medical oncologist, explains how genetic testing is being applied to understand the genetic fingerprint of an individual’s cancer and lay the foundation for the future of cancer care. Insights gained from this profiling can help identify novel drugs that specifically target the mutations driving a person’s cancer.

Breast Cancer Diagnosis Saves More an One Life

In 2015, Jessica was diagnosed with breast cancer. As part of her care at the Stanford Cancer Center, her doctors suspected she might have an inherited form of cancer and referred her to the Cancer Genetics Program for specialized counseling.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.

Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
