Dr. Altman’s research and practice focuses on analyzing drugs and biological molecules to understand the action, interaction and adverse events, and how human genetic variation impacts drug response. Dr. Altman is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Clinical Informatics. He holds an A.B. from Harvard College, an M.D. from Stanford Medical School, and a Ph.D. in Medical Information Sciences from Stanford.
Professor, Division of Primary Care and Population Health
Dr. Palaniappan’s research has focused on the study of diverse populations, chronic disease and prevention. She is currently implementing evidence based genetic and pharmacogenetic testing in Primary Care Clinics as the Scientific Director of Precision Genomics and Pharmacogenomics in Primary Care. Dr. Palaniappan is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds a B.A./M.D. from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. from Stanford University.
