Stanford Digestive Health Center Crohn's disease expert, Berkeley Limketkai, MD, had wanted to become an aerospace engineer. He loved science, but something was missing. He finally chose medicine, after he saw the chance to make a real difference in the lives of people with Crohn's disease.

Crohn's in Control: Brooke Smith's Story

For three years, Crohn's disease had control over Brooke Smith's life. This painful GI inflammatory disease made her dread eating. "It felt like I was swallowing tacks," she said. Her daily life was marred by constant stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea.

  • Recent labs (including but not limited to serum free light chains, SPEP, UPEP)
  • Pathology reports from all biopsies related to the amyloid diagnosis
  • Recent clinical notes from any doctor involved with the amyloid diagnosis
  • Copy of echocardiogram report (if applicable).
