When to Choose Primary Care
Your primary care doctor should be your first choice for common, non-life-threatening conditions during regular business hours. We can help you find a primary care doctor.

Family Medicine
Stanford Health Care’s family medicine team offers comprehensive care, including checkups, screenings, and immunizations for people of all ages, from infants to adolescents to seniors. Our family medicine doctors get to know you and your loved ones and provide compassionate care at a location that’s convenient to you.
Internal Medicine
We focus on preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions in adults aged 18 and older. Our internal medicine doctors offer routine exams, evaluate and manage all types of illness, and help to coordinate prescriptions. We also treat chronic conditions and can refer you for more specialized care when needed.
OB/GYN
Our OB/GYNs offer a complete range of personalized care for all types of gynecological concerns, from adolescence through menopause and beyond. Services include preventive care and screenings, pregnancy care, nonsurgical therapies, and minimally invasive and traditional surgical treatments.
LGBTQ+ Health Program
Our LGBTQ+ health providers are advocates and educators who provide personalized health care in safe and affirming environments. With extensive experience caring for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, our team is committed to raising the standards of care for LGBTQ+ people and their families.
Senior Care
Our senior care team helps you and your family manage health concerns as you grow older. We provide primary care for adults aged 80 and older and adults aged 65 and older who have neurologic conditions such as dementia. We also offer consultations to adults aged 65 and older who already have a primary care doctor.

Preventive Screenings
The earlier we diagnose a disease, the higher the chances of curing or managing it. We provide a complete range of preventive screening tests at convenient locations.

Recommended vaccines for adults:
- Flu vaccine (influenza) = Recommended annually
- COVID-19 vaccine = See current guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention
- Tdap booster (diptheria, tetanus, whooping cough) = Needed every 10 years
- Shingles = Starting at age 50
- RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) = For adults 75 and older and those 60-74 who have an increased risk of severe RSV (Increased risk includes those with chronic heart and lung disease, certain other chronic medical conditions, residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities. Pregnant people should contact their OB)
- Pneumococcal vaccine = Adults 50 years and older and those age 19 to 49 with certain risk conditions
