They treat mental health symptoms related to neurological conditions, including epilepsy. Neuropsychiatrists can help identify past or present stress factors contributing to seizures and related conditions, such as psychiatric nonepileptic seizures. They can provide counseling and prescribe medications for people with epilepsy who also have mental health symptoms, such as anxiety or depression.
