Risk Factors for Pituitary Tumors
People with family histories of certain genetic disorders may face a higher risk of developing low grade pituitary tumors. These conditions are caused by genetic changes passed down from parents.
The risk of developing a low grade pituitary tumors also increases with age and previous exposure to radiation, such as radiation therapy for another medical condition.
