Technique for Annular Closure

Surgeons place the annular closure device during discectomy surgery. They anchor the titanium implant to a healthy vertebra. The polymer flap covers the hole in the disc annulus to create a barrier.

The technique strengthens the outer ring of the disc and preserves tissue at the core of the disc. Together, they help to prevent reherniation of the disc.
