Kock Pouch Ileostomy Complications
Kock Pouch Ileostomy Complications
As with any procedure, it's possible for complications to happen. However, this is very uncommon. Possible complications associated with Kock pouch ileostomy include:
- Inflammation and possible infection in your intestinal pouch (pouchitis)
- The valve in your stoma comes apart and returns to its original state (slipped valve)
- Unintentional narrowing of your stoma (opening in your stomach) as it heals (stoma stenosis)
As pioneers in minimally invasive techniques, colorectal surgery experts at Stanford Health Care take every possible precaution to help you avoid complications.
