Magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) is used to treat:
Bone metastasis
The spread of a cancer to the bone. Bone metastasis often cause pain which can be reduced through certain types of treatments.
Osteoid osteoma
A benign bone tumor mostly in children and young adults. These small tumors usually occur in the long bones, most commonly in the femur in the thigh, but can grow in any bone.
Fibroids
Fibroids are common benign tumors, present in 70% of women, and cause symptoms in 25% of reproductive age women.
Essential tremor is a chronic neurological condition that causes involuntary trembling in a part of the body. It occurs most often in the hands and arms, but may also affect the head, voice and legs.
