Risks of Surgery

Most superficial non-melanoma is treated with outpatient surgery that has a low risk of complications or side effects.

Like any surgery, there will be a scar on the site of surgery that fades over time. There is a small risk of infection or bleeding at the site, and you will be given information on how to contact your health care team if this happens.

Depending on your individual case and whether you receive another type of treatment, you may experience other side effects. As part of our follow-up care, we will provide testing and treatment to prevent, find and help to relieve treatment side effects.
