Vasectomy Procedure

The outpatient procedure takes approximately 30 minutes and is performed in our clinic. Men are asked to avoid strenuous activity for 24 to 48 hours afterwards. They may return to work as soon as the next day.  After vasectomy, a man is still considered fertile until his sperm count falls to zero which generally takes two to three months. Thus, birth control should still be utilized until a sperm count is performed. While vasectomy reversal is often effective at restoring fertility, a man should consider this a permanent solution.
