Stanford Health Care-Stanford Hospital Named to U.S. News & World Report's 2015-16 Best Hospitals Honor Roll

One of only 15 hospitals in the nation named to Honor Roll; also ranked #1 in

Stanford, CA – July 21, 2015 - Stanford Health Care's renowned Stanford Hospital has once again been ranked one of the nation's best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, earning Honor Roll status and receiving national top tier rankings in 13 of 16 medical specialties for 2015-16. The magazine also ranked Stanford Hospital as the top hospital in California. The Honor Roll highlights 15 hospitals out of nearly 5,000 nationwide for their expertise.

For 2015-16, less than three percent of the approximately 5,000 hospitals analyzed by U.S. News earned national ranking in even one specialty. Stanford was ranked among the nation's very best hospitals in: cancer; cardiology & heart surgery; diabetes & endocrinology; ear, nose & throat; gastroenterology & GI surgery; geriatrics; gynecology; nephrology; neurology & neurosurgery; orthopaedics; pulmonology; rheumatology; and urology.

The U.S. News Best Hospitals survey also ranks America's children's hospitals and their programs. In June 2015, U.S. News ranked five of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford specialty programs among the top 15 in the nation, and two of those programs were ranked best in the state.
