New Statement on Non-Cardiac Complications of Congenital Heart Disease Help Patients and Providers
10.10.2017
Thanks to advanced cardiac surgery techniques, today there are more adult survivors of congenital heart disease than children with congenital heart disease. This achievement brings with it the need to educate patients and providers on related health matters that can arise across other organs, such as kidneys, liver and lungs, as a result of congenital heart disease. George Lui, M.D., Medical Director of The Adult Congenital Heart Program at Stanford, a Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH) and Stanford Healthcare collaboration, is the lead author of a new report from the American Heart Association with valuable diagnosis and management information for adults with congenital heart disease.
CARE AT STANFORD
The Adult Congenital Heart Program specializes in adults who were born with congenital heart defects. We also help patients transition from pediatric to adult care.
