Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health today jointly launched a new online second opinion program to help patients make more-informed decisions about their health and treatment plans. The program offers easy access to world-class Stanford specialists to those who have received a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment and want another opinion.
Getting a second opinion from Stanford is easy, convenient, and done remotely. Patients don’t have to visit our hospitals or clinics for this service. Instead, patients may create an account from the Stanford Medicine Online Second Opinion Offering website and provide a summary of their conditions and initial diagnosis. All relevant medical records will then be collected on behalf of the patient, if the records are in the U.S. An expert from Stanford will review the medical information and send a written second opinion, usually within two weeks.
Stanford physicians are among the best in the world and have experience in a wide range of conditions, from the common to the most complex. Nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report, Stanford Children’s Health and Stanford Health Care have access to the latest innovations in health and medicine that may not be available elsewhere.
Currently, the Stanford Medicine Online Second Opinion program is available to patients across all international locations.
