This year’s Adopt-a-Patient drive for the Santa Clara County Medical Respite Program’s unhoused patients was a remarkable success, thanks to the collective efforts of Stanford Health Care’s (SHC) dedicated staff and departments. Essential items such as wool socks and blankets were provided, significantly enhancing the comfort and well-being of our most vulnerable community members during the winter season. This initiative brought joy to 54 unhoused community members, making their holiday season brighter and more hopeful. Staff carefully wrapped each item and included heartfelt handwritten notes of encouragement. Additionally, collaboration with SHC’s Supply Chain and Warehouse teams allowed for the expansion of outreach to ten more patients and the creation of an enhanced wishlist, better addressing the needs of the most vulnerable and at-risk community members. Together, these efforts are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those served.
