Caring for generations of patients
The Stanford Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease specializes in the care of patients and families with genetic disorders of the heart and blood vessels. By looking at a patient’s genetics, we aim to diagnose the underlying source of their heart disease and determine if their family members are also at risk.
Our care extends through the patient’s lifespan and across the generations of a patient’s family. Our team includes adult and pediatric cardiologists who work together with nurses and genetic counselors who specialize in inherited heart disease. Our cardiologists and nurses have extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of these conditions, and our genetic counselors help patients learn more about how their inherited cardiovascular condition might affect their health and their family’s health.
Conditions seen in this clinic include hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Long QT syndrome, Marfan syndrome and other common inherited cardiovascular diseases.
