- Express and urgent care clinics: Open daily with same-day appointments, depending on availability. Hours and age seen vary by clinic. Click on each location to see more.
- Walk-in Clinic: Open Monday-Friday. No appointments necessary. For patients 2 years and older.
- Orthopaedic Acute Injury Program: Open Monday-Friday from 1 pm to 5 pm for patients 14 years and older.
- Early Pregnancy Clinic: Open daily for people who are up to 10 weeks pregnant.
Our team specializes in providing comprehensive care to people in the early stage of pregnancy. Offering a wide range of services customized to your needs, we’re dedicated to supporting you in a caring and compassionate environment.
At the Orthopaedic Acute Injury Program, we diagnose and treat a range of orthopaedic injuries that affect the arms, hands, knees, ankles, and feet. Our team cares for people age 14 and up who have had a non-life-threatening injury occur within the last 48 hours.
Call 9-1-1 or go to the Emergency Department immediately if you are experiencing:
- Chest pain or pressure
- Shortness of breath
- Sudden weakness or inability to walk, talk, see, or move
- Abdominal pain or severe nausea and vomiting
- Infections and sepsis
- Severe allergic reactions
- Seizure
- Trauma to the head, neck, or back
- Moderate to severe burns
- Broken bones, especially if the area is numb
- Poisoning or overdose
- Severe bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- Injury from an accident or fall or other trauma

You can get care at any Stanford Health Care Express Clinic, Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley Urgent Care Clinic, or the Stanford Walk-In Clinic even if you are not a current patient. You’ll just need to create a MyHealth account and make an appointment from there.
You should go to an express care, urgent care clinic, or walk-in clinic for conditions and illnesses that are not life-threatening, such as:
- Abdominal pain
- Animal and insect bites
- Back pain
- Burns
- Cold
- Congestion
- Cough
- Cuts
- Diarrhea
- Ear infections
- Fever
- Flu
- Headaches
- Mild asthma
- Puncture wounds
- Rashes
- Sore throat
- Sprains
- Urinary tract infections
- Vomiting
Going to an express care, urgent care, or walk-in clinic for non-life threatening emergencies will save you time and money. You’ll be seen more quickly. In addition, this will allow patients who need emergency care at the emergency department to be seen more efficiently and in a timely manner.
If you are experiencing any symptoms noted in the “For life-threatening emergencies” section above, call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency department immediately. Otherwise, you can call our advice nurse at 650-723-4000, who will be able to direct you to the right care.
Yes, you may walk-in to the Stanford Walk-In Clinic at 211 Quarry Road in Palo Alto (see information above). You may also walk-in to an express care or urgent care, however we strongly recommend that you make an appointment to avoid longer wait times.
Our express care, urgent care, and walk-in clinic teams consist of board-certified, fellowship-trained Stanford Medicine primary care doctors, working closely with our physician assistants and nurse practitioners who are all fully experienced in treating a variety of conditions and illnesses, and licensed to prescribe medications.
