Purpose

The purpose of this study is to study molecules in interstitial fluid from patients with benign and malignant breast lesions and evaluate whether interstitial fluid biomarkers can improve breasts cancer diagnostics.

Specific Aim 1:
Assess feasibility and acceptance of minimally invasive device to collect breast interstitial fluid in a diverse population of women.

Specific Aim 2: Measure levels of a specific protein in ISF in breast pairs, using a microchip

Specific Aim 3: Conduct exploratory analyses of ISF to measure protein levels and compare the levels from breasts with benign disease to those with cancer
