Reflecting on the many advances at Stanford Health Care over the past year, I am energized by the exciting initiatives fulfilling our mission to integrate groundbreaking research, stellar scholarship, and standard-setting clinical care.
 

Our continuing progress underscores the attributes that make Stanford truly unique: our legacy of leadership and innovation, our firm commitment to the future of health care delivery, and our unwavering dedication to quality and value.

We continue to play a key role in the future of health care: from brick-and-mortar developments such as the new Stanford Hospital—designed to be a model of coordinated care built around the unique physical and emotional needs of each patient—to how we approach our digitally driven innovations. Today, we are capitalizing on big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and even virtual reality. And tomorrow, we will capitalize on the next-next big developments. It is in our DNA as a leading academic medical center.

We are also continuing to expand throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Offering more people greater access to our brand of precision health enables us to drive value to patients, partners, and providers— and it helps to improve the financial strength and efficiency of our entire organization.

Actively pursuing so many major initiatives in parallel over the past year is truly a remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication of our generous supporters, volunteers, corporate partners, physicians, nurses, staff, and leadership.
