Fatty Liver Diet | Hepatology Updates During COVID-19, a Quarterly Liver Transplant Webinar

Join Stanford Health Care experts for a discussion of diet, medication, and lifestyle changes that can help patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The webinar covers the stages of NAFLD, the amount of weight loss needed to help with fatty liver depending on disease stage, an in-depth look at how to construct a healthy diet, medications that can help mitigate factors influencing fatty liver, and strategies for overcoming mental and behavioral barriers to weight loss. An introduction to how a patient with an NAFLD diagnosis would be treated at Stanford Health Care is also presented.

This webinar is not available for CME credit. It was recorded in August 2020 as part of the Eating Right Series from the Stanford Medicine Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Liver Transplant Program Highlights

The Stanford Health Care Liver Transplant Program experienced the lowest waitlist mortality among all California adult liver transplant programs while also performing the most transplants of any hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area during 2020, according to the January 2021 SRTR report.

During this same period, stretching through the COVID-19 pandemic, the Liver Transplant Program and other organ transplant programs at Stanford Health Care saw the highest volumes in their histories.  The Liver Transplant Program is part of a comprehensive multi-organ transplant program that includes kidney-liver, lung-liver, heart-liver, intestine-liver, and pancreas-liver transplant.
