Visit our chapel
Located near the entrance of the D1 unit on the first floor of the
hospital, this interfaith chapel is a peaceful place to reflect and
pray. It contains sacred writings and prayer books of several faith
traditions, as well as a fountain to help calm your spirit.
Spiritual care volunteers
The Spiritual Care Service has 200 volunteers to assist the staff in
providing spiritual care and support. The volunteers are interfaith
and include members from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim,
and Sikh traditions. The Rev. John P. Hester coordinates the volunteer
program. Those interested in learning more are invited to call him at 650-723-5101.
The Spiritual Care Service is accredited by the Association for
Clinical Pastoral Education to provide training programs in Clinical
Pastoral Education (CPE) for clergy and seminary graduates. Four
programs are offered: a summer internship, the year-long residency,
second-year specialization, and supervisory training.
For more information on CPE, contact Spiritual Care Service at 650-723-5101.
