The RCS department at Stanford Health Care values individual growth and professional development. We offer a career ladder that allows each caregiver to grow at his/her own pace. All staff enter as an RCP I and focus on learning SHC culture, systems, and providing general medical care. From there, one can begin training in our critical care units (RCP II). To climb to higher levels, our staff choose to train in a specialty care area. At present, we offer four specialty tracts: outpatient clinics, pediatric and adult emergency care, interventional pulmonology, and leadership. You can seek promotion to each level after completing all competencies, participating in a quality project, and overseeing some type of critical care education.
