Call for Abstracts on Emerging Topics
New opportunity with Healthcare Con! In addition to the current podium and posters, this year we will accept abstract submissions on Emerging Topics for the first time. Topics should be focused on current challenges in healthcare.
The abstract submission for emerging topics are time-sensitive, relevant, and apropos to current events and challenges in healthcare.
Suggested topics include but not limited to:
- Social determinants of health and access to healthcare
- COVID-19 pandemic response
- Diversity, inclusion, and equity
- Resiliency to combat workforce burnout and moral distress
- Workforce and systems adaptations and response
- Social justice, structural racism, and health disparities
- Telehealth and alternative venues of care
- Patient-centered and caregiver (family/advocate) care in the time of COVID-19

Target Audience
All health care professionals interested in learning and sharing innovative ideas in research, innovation, improvement and education. This includes interdisciplinary professionals, nurses, leaders, advanced practice providers, allied health providers, and health administrators.
Keynote Speaker
CYNDA H. RUSHTON, PHD, RN, FAAN recognized as an international leader in nursing ethics, is the Anne and George L. Bunting Professor of Clinical Ethics in the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the School of Nursing. Her current scholarship focuses on moral suffering of clinicians, moral resilience, palliative care, and designing a culture of ethical practice. She is author and editor of Moral Resilience: Transforming Moral Suffering in Healthcare (Oxford University Press), that aims to transform approaches to moral suffering with innovative methods of cultivating moral resilience.
