Care and Treatment for Emergencies
Emergency Department Wait Times
Wait times reflect the time from check-in to care being initiated by a physician. Estimated wait times are updated every ten minutes and are based on the average wait of patients seen in the previous hour. Patients are not brought back to the treatment area based on time of arrival alone. Treatment is provided to the sickest patients first. The Stanford Emergency department works to keep every patient's wait time as short as possible while providing the highest quality medical and psychiatric care.
