What to Expect at the Stanford Emergency Department
Welcome to the Stanford Emergency department. We provide care for
serious medical emergencies, as well as for minor injuries and
illnesses for children and adults. Our pediatric emergency
department is located within the Stanford Emergency Department and
is affiliated with Stanford Children's Hospital.
If you have questions about your care or you are in pain, please ask
a team member for assistance. We are dedicated to making your stay as
comfortable and efficient as possible.
Guest Services is available 24 hours a day in the emergency
department lobby. The Guest Services representative wears a red blazer
and can help you with everything from where to find food in the
hospital to arranging for transportation home. Guest Services is here
to help you and your family both during and after your visit.

expect during every step of your visit from the time of arrival
through arranging follow-up care.

The Stanford Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day. The Fast
Track program is open daily from 11:30am-11:30pm and provides
emergency care for patients 2 and older with minor illnesses and
injuries. Most Fast Track patients are discharged within 90 minutes.
