Stanford Health Care Celebrates Opening of First East Bay Facility
March 02, 2017
New Outpatient Facility in Emeryville Offers One Stop Destination for Health Care Services
Emeryville, Calif. – Stanford Health Care hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of its new Stanford Health Care, Emeryville outpatient facility in Emeryville, CA. Attendees included Stanford Health Care leadership and medical staff, community members and public officials. The new facility is scheduled to open for patient care on March 16, 2017.
Stanford Health Care, Emeryville is Stanford’s first outpatient facility in the East Bay, extending Stanford’s leading edge care across the Bay by offering clinical advancements, coordinated care and an unparalleled patient experience. The facility provides state-of-the-art medical care and services, including primary care; heart care; women’s health services; men’s health services; ear, nose and throat; veins and circulation; skin conditions; lungs and airways; digestive health; and imaging.
“This wonderful new facility brings together multidisciplinary teams of Stanford clinicians and allows us to serve patients in one convenient location,” said David Entwistle, Stanford Health Care President and CEO. "It also reflects our commitment to partner with community physicians in new ways and extend access to Stanford quality care and resources."
Stanford Health Care, Emeryville is the only concentrated building in the East Bay Stanford Health Care network where patients can get everything done conveniently, in one visit. At Stanford Health Care, Emeryville, patients will have access to two dedicated floors of primary and specialty care, as well as a laboratory, imaging suite, four operating rooms and two procedure rooms.
The building design is truly integrative: through Stanford Health Care’s growing University Healthcare Alliance Network, Stanford Medicine doctors can work with local physicians to create better care, service and outcomes for patients. Primary care physicians will share clinic space with more than 10 different Stanford faculty specialty practices, and specialists with complementary patient populations are grouped together in clinic pods – cardiology with pulmonology, and internal medicine with dermatology and ENT, for example.
“With Stanford Health Care, Emeryville, Stanford Medicine now has an opportunity to engage with East Bay patients in their own community,” said Lloyd B. Minor, M.D., Dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine. “In combination with our leading-edge medical discoveries, the personalized care we provide to these patients will enable us to not only treat people when they’re sick but also to keep them well.”
The interior layout and finishes were designed around a team approach to patient care, making it easier for doctors to collaborate and for patients to have a smooth, seamless care experience. Patient-friendly innovations include centralized check-in for all services, and the electronic Patient Pass system to help patients move through a day of care with ease. Beautiful artwork, curated from local East Bay artists as part of Stanford Health Care’s partnership with the Emeryville Art in Public Places Program, line the halls of all four levels, complementing the building’s soothing interior design and neutral color palette.
“We are pleased to welcome Stanford Health Care to Emeryville, said Scott Donahue, Mayor of Emeryville. “We value the thoughtful integration of this facility into our community and are confident it will create a high-quality experience for patients and residents as well as staff.”
The new four-story, 90,000-square-foot Stanford Health Care, Emeryville facility is located at 5800 Hollis Street in Emeryville, CA.
