Throughout Stanford Health Care are numerous signs of the success and dynamism of our organization. We are growing and continually improving to serve more members of our community and to serve them more efficiently than ever before. More than 1.2 million patients receive outpatient care every year, and we have over 26,000 in-patient admissions at our hospitals today.

Our growth is exemplified by the new Stanford Hospital—a model of what health care can and should be in the 21st century. When open in 2019, it will capture the promise of the biomedical revolution, translating the innovations of Stanford University and Silicon Valley into better health outcomes. This centerpiece of our health system will bring our total bed count to 600, and feature an emergency department that increases our previous floor space. Beyond enlarging our presence, the hospital is a showcase for innovation: innovative planning, innovative construction, innovative amenities, and innovative technologies—the world’s most advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical systems to help manage health and wellness.
