HIPEC Therapy
03.05.2020
A procedure called Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) is an alternative to chemotherapy infusion for patients with malignancies affecting the liver, peritoneum, stomach, small intestine, colon, uterus, and ovaries. It is generally more effective and less toxic that infusion therapy. Stanford researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of HIPEC on more types of cancer.
This HIPEC patient achieved remission after prior chemotherapy elsewhere failed to disrupt an aggressive cancer.
