Biography
Julie Chen, MD, is a clinical assistant professor in endocrinology at Stanford University. Dr. Chen graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Diego and endocrinology fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. She is double board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.
Dr. Chen practices general endocrinology but her clinical interest include thyroid disease/thyroid cancer, pituitary disease, and disorders of the bone. She also has a special interest in medical education and has developed online teaching resources for the endocrine fellowship program.

Smart and approachable!
Dr. Chen is phenomenal. Since seeing Dr. Chen, I have gained a solid understanding of where I stand in terms of bone health and what the future options will be if/when my osteopenia progresses. Dr. Chen also gave me a solution to prevent progression which is to do weight-bearing exercise for 150 minutes a week which is a fantastic goal for anyone. Dr. Chen set a fire under me to prioritize reaching that goal weekly. I am grateful to have such a gifted and caring physician.
