Biography
Dr. Weng is the Section Chief of General Primary Care. She has over 25 years of experience caring for patients in primary care, urgent care and in the hospital. She is also a teacher of students and residents. As a leader in primary care re-design, she is passionate about practicing patient-centered medicine. She is a an advocate of Mindfulness Self-compassion to develop equanimity. She practices with an emphasis on musculoskeletal care as she feels fitness is the foundation of wellness. She is a leader in organizational change and physician management. She supports community health and care for the underserved. Outside of work she enjoys biking, reading and spending time with her 8 children.

I was impressed with Dr. Elder; she was very nice, and she made feel at ease.
She is wonderful. Warm, friendly, compassionate but most important is her knowledge. She's the best I've ever had and I've had many.

Dr. Elder is very helpful to me. She was willing to provide me with the extra help I needed in requesting and reviewing my hospital records. The results of her review revealed that I did not have the stroke that other doctors believed and based on that belief to keep postponing the foot surgery I badly needed. Dr. Elder has much experience and education to make her perfect for the position she holds.
I was unable to find a primary care physician in San Luis Obispo because so many doctors have retired or otherwise left the area. Not to say that there aren't doctors but more that having worked in a major medical complex at University of WA and having had major surgery at Stanford, I was not please with the available choices.
I researched a number of physicians affiliated with Stanford and chose Dr. Elder because of her variety of experience, the location at which she practices.
After meeting her online this afternoon, I am incredibly pleased with. my choice. She represents all that I feel is important for doctors but particularly for primary care doctors. She is clear spoken, asks pertinent questions, takes time to listen, and is extremely pleasant personally.
I am looking forward to meeting her in person in the near future.

Dr. Weng-Elder is phenomenal. She's intelligent and intuitive simultaneously, and she's kind and encouraging as well. I always ask for an appointment with her when I have to visit Express Care. She reminds me of a GP or family practitioner of days gone by -- she listens extremely well and like a detective, she is able (with the patient's input) to ferret out the solution for a given problem. I wish she could be my doctor of record. She really is outstanding.

I felt very well cared for by Dr Weng and was very glad I came in to the clinic.
Dr Weng talked more about her daughter attending UOP than seeing to my problem. For the duration of my visit, she talked to me about my issue maybe 5 minutes. She asked me, "what do you want to do with your issue?" I was thinking, what? I came here to get expert suggestions. If I knew, I would of done it myself. Truly disappointing. I hope to never see her. She wasn't very helpful.

Dr. Weng listened to my concerns, as minor as they were, with full attention & made sure I was OK before I left.
The dr. got me into an ENT that very day. She answered all my questions gave an exam then sent me to the ENT who quickly diagnosed me and I was soon on the road to recovery.
Doctor was very thorough, thoughtful and caring.
Dr. Elder took excellent care of me. I wear hearing aids and due to illness I was suddenly totally deaf - scary - and she made me feel better.

I was told I would get a telephone call from the orthopedics department for a follow-up appointment later in the day or following day. After several days no call came so I called orthopedics myself to make the appointment.
