Biography
Dr. Manjula Kamaraju has been in practice in the San Jose area since 1994. Her focus is to be proactive with preventative health. She likes to see patients of all ages, but especially enjoys working with infants and children. She has several elderly patients in her practice, as well.
Dr. Kamaraju routinely does dermatology, minor orthopedics, well women exams, children and teenage well visits, contraception and counseling, psychiatry, diabetes and hypertension management.
In her spare time, Dr. Kamaraju likes to be with her family. She likes to hike and work out. She also travels when time permits. Her favorite sports teams are the Golden State Warriors, Forty-Niners, and SF Giants.

GREAT DOCTOR
Dr. Kamaraju is always wise and gives good advice. I have liked having her as my doctor for many years now and make major insurance decisions based on whether I can keep her as my doctor. Yes, she's that good and I'm willing to pay more to know I have that consistancy of health care and a doctor I feel I can trust.
Many doctors I've had as primary care physicians I never see, and they have the DO see me instead. I can go years without ever seeing my real doctor and always seeing the nurse practitioner. I don't like that.
That is why I like Dr. Kamaraju. She is the first doctor I have been able to have as my primary that actually sees me. I have seen her DO Tara who I really like as well. But being able to actually see my doctor in person is a rarity for many patients like me. Because my doctor is a real person who will actually see me herself and talk to me herself, I will stick with her and get more expensive insurance to maintain that doctor/patient relationship I feel I have with her.

I love Dr. Kamaraju with Stanford Health Care at Family Medicine Samaritan Los Gatos in Los Gatos Blvd in Los Gatos, CA. She is very knowledgeable, professional and spends the time needed to address my health concern or reason I'm there for an appointment. I know I'm in good hands with her. She isn't one of those doctors who tries to get you to you take unnecessary medication every time you see her. She actually disagreed with a medication that a previous doctor tried to get me to use. I've been to her office before a year ago and saw a different doctor who barely spent two minutes with me; he was so fast at leaving after he examined me that I forgot to ask him to prescribe antibiotic eye drops for my eye infection. I don't mind if she is ever running late since I know she is a caring doctor who will spend adequate time necessary for each of her patients. If she spends more time with one patient than another or is due to the patient's condition or needs. I'm very satisfied with her as my primary care physician and fortune to have finally found a great doctor. Her staff members are all very professional as well. Thank you for taking great care of me. I've already given her a review and a separate review for Family Medicine Samaritan Los Gatos on Google.

She made it a point to tell me I was very big, and that there needed to be something done about my weight in a very poor bedside manner way. I was there for a completely separate issue and this was the first time I'd ever met her since I just changed insurance and the first thing she says to me after introducing herself was "we don't need to discuss it now but we definitely need to have a discussion about your weight. You're very big, very big." I know that I am considered obese for my height I know that and I'm not happy with it of course but there are just better ways for any personal of the medical field to approach the weight subject then just out right telling someone you're very big and repeating yourself more than once in the same sentence about it.

I had just blown my nose (I was there because I thought I had a bad cold since I'd had symptoms for 2 weeks) and didn't want to shake her hand which I think put her off a bit. I wish she'd spent a little more time letting me know which of the OTC meds that I brought in that I should continue taking. She was good explaining about the cough syrup and the antibiotics. But I wasn't sure when to know if the antibiotics weren't working. I was a total mess feeling awful and not at my best and just needed someone to take care of me. The meds worked great. I continued taking mucinex and zyrtec on my own.

Outstanding doctor.
The doctor's attention was on her computer, not on me. She talked but didn't make eye contact with me. I just waited for her to finish, then she handed me a form and asked me to go take an x-ray. I don't know "next steps"; her nurse left me a phone message with the x-ray results but no indication of plans to treat my pain. I guess I'll have to make another appointment to get that information - or better yet - I'll go to another doctor who cares!

Doctors today are more interested in updating patient records on computer than paying any attention to the patient. I had minor issue but only received a momentary glance from doctor. Pay attention to me!
She thought it was my first visit - didn't look at my file. We covered things she wanted to update on my chart, such as giving me a pneumonia shot, but not my primary reason for coming in. She said my ears were impacted with wax and could have contributed to my vertigo, but didn't refer me to an E-N-&T doctor or offer to clean out my ears herself. So I left there not any more knowledgeable; I already had read about vertigo on the web and knew to take meclizin.
I did not know Dr. Kamaraju prior to her seeing me - she was very helpful and made sure I was to be seen for further care with cardiology. She was excellent.
Though my regular Dr. was not available, Dr. K. quickly became familiar with my history via the computer records and was able to proceed seamlessly with the exam.

Doctor Manjula Kamaraju is excellent. I don't like that my records were not "at her fingertips" with the new system. she explained that my old records are accessible.
