This was my first appointment with Dr. Elizabeth Reilly. I felt that she really listened to me. She probed to get as much information as possible then offered multiple approaches to easing the pain in my foot. I liked her energy and enthusiasm for her field of expertise. So far I would highly recommend her.

She gave me comfort in knowing that I have time to schedule my bunion correction surgery and that the transferred pain I am feeling in my foot will not cause futher damage to other areas of my foot that will make the surgery more difficult, when I choose to have it. The recovery is long, so I am happy to know that I have time to choose when I want it to happen. My friend's mom has a bunion that is affecting her ability to walk in her mid 80's. I don't want my bunion to be the reason that I can't walk in my 80's. That's why I sought a consultation with Dr. Reilly, to make a plan for surgery over the next decade. If the recovery is that long, I want to plan it with my husband and my family so it minimally interferes with our life plan. Thank you, Dr. Reilly

Dr. Reilly--what a star! It was worth the wait in scheduling my appointment. We talked about symptoms that likely won't disappear (peripheral neuropathy) and symptoms that we may be able to improve (musculoskeletal discomfort). Having new films taken was helpful to me in understanding why my feet feel the way they do. I appreciated Dr. Reilly's suggestions about orthotic revisions, which I will undertake right away!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Reilly - not only for her wonderful, upbeat bedside manner, but that she listens and you know you've been heard! I have been to numerous surgeons and podiatry specialists, over a 28 year period, for the condition I have and NOT ONE even mentioned the course of treatment Dr. Reilly has begun for me. Simple steroid injections into the affected areas of my feet! Most doctors said they just couldn't help me or didn't want to touch it - including UCSF staff. I have had my second set of injections in a 6 week period and the mass under the arch of my left foot is now half the size it was. She was as impressed as I because the mass was larger than she had treated before. (Larger because it took so long for me to find her)! She felt the treatment was an obvious choice and said she'd been treating these fibroma growths accordingly for a number of years - very successfully. I can't for the life of me figure out why the other doctors seemed to be so baffled by my condition and only wanted to "cut". To date, I have had 5 foot surgeries to surgeries to excise the fibromas when simple injections may have been enough. According to Dr. Reilly, she uses older, original steroids. Not anything new or breakthrough therapy. I couldn't be more grateful for this simple improvement. My feet will never be perfect and I will always suffer some discomfort. The growths will most likely continue to appear in different locations, but at least I now have hope of controlling the fibromas as they develop and before they become large. I can now walk normally again with this treatment and some new, custom foam orthotics. Thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!
