She explained the medications and protocols involved in diabetic treatment and expanded the knowledge I needed for informed consent. She also indicated that she was willing to collaborate with my primary care provider and orthopedic surgeon to insure that the treatment for various conditions met the standard of care.

Dr. Shim was willing to explain in detail with me the significance of my blood test results. Taking notes while listening to her was a bit challenging as she speaks fairly quickly but I appreciated very much her detailed explanations and suggestions of various tools a patient can use to help evaluate their levels of dietary intake of, for example, calcium, and to help evaluate their patient risk. She laid out clearly a further assessment plan, and then some alternative treatment plans dependent on what the assessment reveals. She was patient explaining to a lay person how these assessment tools are designed. She's seems like a great doc.
